Teacup Perspective Drawing

Art Fundamental students needed to draw a teacup and saucer from 3 different angles; one where it was straight in front of them at eye level , one with a top view of the cup, and one where the bottom of the cup can be seen as well. They also practiced with metal jars as shown below

.

The purpose of the assignment was to understand how perspective works in traditional art. Everything goes back into space to meet with the horizon line, which in this case would be the table. Drawing the round surfaces as a flat and square ones at first helps to measure how the shape is warped due to the angle you are viewing it.
